Jasper Cary “J. C.” Cash, 85, of Amherst passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 67 years, Ruby Hudson Cash. Mr. Cash was born in Amherst County November 7, 1933, son of the late Rudell Frazier Cash and Marguerite Walker Cash. He is a member of Poplar United Methodist Church and was a co-owner of C & C Tire Service. JC was also a founding member of the Amherst County Rescue Squad serving for over 15 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter Katherine C Pelletier and husband, Ronald who are very dedicated and caring to her parents. JC was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Cash. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Amelon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Judy Morris and Rev. Dr. Mark Tinsley with interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the church prior to the funeral service.
