Jean Alderson Hodnett Hensley, 95, of Alton, passed away at South Boston Health and Rehab on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was the wife first of the late Carlton Hodnett, Sr. and second of the late Willie Hensley. Born in Pittsylvania County, VA on October 8, 1930, Jean was the daughter of the late Clyde Alderson and the late Mary Terry Alderson. She was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church. Jean is survived by a son, Daniel Hodnett of Spartanburg, S.C.; a daughter, Elizabeth “Dean” Reeves (Kenneth) of Alton; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; a sister Frances Eason of South Boston; a brother, Frank Alderson of Cadiz, KY; and seven nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by a son, Carl Hodnett. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Phillip Wright at Clover Bottom Church Cemetery on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hendersonfuneral.net.
