John Forrest Hall, 74, of Lynchburg, known affectionately as Forrest, went to heaven to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Altavista, in 1943, son of the late Buford W. and Janie M. Hall. Surviving him are his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Jackson Hall, and their daughter, Andrea Hall Daniel, and her husband Rick, of Forest. He is also survived by three brothers, Wayne, Thomas, and James Hall, and one sister, Carolyn Dawson, all of Gladys. He was blessed with a large extended family in the Jackson family, who all loved him, and he had numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of Christian Chapel. He worked for 38 years at The Lane Company, two years at Vaughan-Bassett in South Carolina, and 7 years at Charter of Lynchburg. He loved playing golf, watching sports on television, and working crossword puzzles. The family would like to thank Generation Solutions, especially Gayle, Centra Hospice, and special family members, Linda and Jim Moss, Mary Lois Jackson, and Wayne Hall. Thanks also to all friends and family for their prayers and calls. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ray J. Triplett and Pastor Alvin D. Triplett with interment to follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
