Joyce Via Ginther, 80, of Ivy Knoll Drive, Gladys passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Altavista.  She was the wife of the late John Christian Ginther. Joyce was born in Lynchburg, May 3, 1934 daughter of the late John Via and Helen Wilmer Via.  She was a member of Kedron Baptist Church and a former employee of First National Bank of Altavista. She is survived by three sons, J. Paul Ginther of Halifax, Benjamin H. Ginther (Linda) of Rocky Mount, Michael P. Ginther (Denise) of Evington; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Julia V. Smith (Jerry) of Sugar Grove, W.Va. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Kedron Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Brian Reynolds. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal is assisting the family.
