Kay Ratliff Pollard, 62, of Brookneal passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. She was the wife of Bobby Gene Pollard. Kay was born in Grundy, July 9, 1953 a daughter of Madie Stilner Ratliff of Grundy and the late Hatler Ratliff. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church where she served with the United Methodist Women. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three daughters, Christina Sparks (Christopher) of Grundy, Tonia Finger (Eric) of Rustburg, and Brandy Pollard of Brookneal. four grandchildren, Ryan Sparks, Rachel Sparks, Dillon Finger and Adam Finger; four brothers, Ronald Ratliff, Burlin Ratliff, David Ratliff all of Grundy, James Ratliff of Brookneal; one sister, Roberta Jennings (Danny) of Brookneal; one step-son, Bevin Pollard of Lynchburg; one step-daughter, Pam Jones (Thomas) of Phenix. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearlie Ratliff; two brothers, Hatler Ratliff Jr., Kermit Ratliff; and a step-son, Barry Pollard. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mike Teixeira with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
