Larry Lee Hamlette, 73, of Brookneal passed away at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital on Monday, December 8, 2025. He was the husband of the late Hazel Patricia Mann Hamlette. Born in Charlotte County on December 17, 1951, he was the son of the late Edward Henry Hamlette and the late Elizabeth Ann Lee Hamlette. He was a vital member of Staunton River Baptist Church. Larry was a former employee of Burlington Industries before he retired from Flow Serve. Larry is survived by his daughter, Crystal Hamlette Pillow (Shane) of Brookneal; beloved granddaughters, Lily Ann Pillow and Haylee Elizabeth Pillow; brother, Charles Hamlett (Diane) of Brookneal; sister, Phyllis Hudson (Wayne) of Drake’s Branch; half-brother, Gerald Hamlette; special niece, Denise Dickerson (Chris) and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nephew, Charles E. Hamlett, Jr. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Rick Dellinger at Staunton River Baptist Church with interment to follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends at his daughter’s home and in the church fellowship hall following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Staunton River Baptist Church.
