Louise Tuck DeJarnette, 101, of Nathalie passed away at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital on, Saturday September 5, 2026. She was the wife of the late Waverly Estes DeJarnette. Born in Halifax County on September 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George Letcher Tuck and the late Mabel Ruth Armistead Tuck. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove and was retired from General Electric. Louise was a founding member of The North Halifax Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis D. Smith (Paul) of Nathalie; two grandsons, Erich W. Smith (Carmen) of New Bern NC, Daniel P. Smith (Stephanie) of Eighty-Four PA; three great grandchildren, Erica, Ava, and Mason Smith. Louise was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Emmett Tuck and two sisters, Barbra Scott, and Madeline Guthrie. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Zak Ford at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove on Wednesday September 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at her daughter’s home.
