A special young man, Malcolm “Blake” Barksdale, 22, of Brookneal passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at home. Blake was born in Lynchburg, August 10, 1994 a son of Mac Barksdale and Beth Anderson Barksdale. He attended Falling River Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Ashley Poole (Robbie); and a brother, Colby Barksdale all of Brookneal; a nephew, Brantlee Poole also of Brookneal; maternal grandparents, Earl and Margaret Anderson of Nathalie; paternal grandparents, M. E. and Dana Barksdale of Brookneal. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at Falling River Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith Williams and the Rev. Shelton Miles with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.
