Marvin Lee Dillard, 71, of Phenix passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at home. He was the husband of Karen Clowdis Dillard.
Mr. Dillard was born in Weston, W.Va., April 4, 1946 a son of the late Joe Samuel Dillard and Joye Pumphrey Dillard. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard and a retired employee of both the Appalachian Electric Power Co. and Home Depot.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Brian Ragland (Brandy) of Phenix; four grandchildren, Angel Ragland, Hanna, Haley and Hunter Lane; a mother-in-law, Mary Katherine Clowdis of Phenix; four brothers, Melvin Dillard (Jamel), Kenny Dillard (Becky), Gary Dillard (Pam), and Stanley Dillard (Karen) all of Charleston W. Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mike Teixeira with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
