Mary Pat Crews Owen, 100, of Brookneal, passed away peacefully at Westminster Canterbury, Lynchburg on Saturday, April 26, 2025. She was the wife of the late Bryan Edward Owen, Sr. Pat was born in Pittsylvania County, Va. on October 31, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph Stone Crews and the late Mattie “Ethel” Robey Crews . She was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church. Pat served her church faithfully in many ways up until her health declined at age 90. She was a graduate of Phillip’s Business School and retired from Owen’s Heating and Sheet Metal. Pat is survived by a son, Scott Lambert Owen and fiancé Ruby Lott of Brookneal; devoted nieces and nephew; Sandra Francis, Susan Nash and David Roakes and numerous other nieces and nephews. A very special friend, Nancy Robertson of Gladys. Pat was preceded in death by a son Bryan Edward Owen, Jr., six brothers: J.T. Crews (Bernice), Raymond Crews (Janie), Robert Crews, Billy Crews, Edwin Crews, Herbert Crews (Kathleen); three sisters, Virginia Compton (James), Lucille George (Troy), Barbara Jean Roakes (Ed). The family would like to thank the staff on the fifth floor Drinkard at Westminster Canterbury for all the love and care given to Pat during her time there. A Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Andrew Reisburg at Brookneal Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Wickliffe Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brookneal Fire Department. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal is assisting the family.
