Reid Forbes Ross, 89, of Nathalie passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gloria Swanson Ross. Mr. Ross was born in Boston, Mass., April 10, 1928 son of the late Bruce Forbes Ross and Nancy Reid Ross. He was a member of Brookneal Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and a former helicopter pilot for the Ontario Hydro Co. He is survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Newton (Shawn) of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada; a brother, Derek Ross of Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada; three great-grandchildren, Jason, Alex, and Madison Newton; a son-in-law, Bruce Davenport of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Haberle. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Ross Family Cemetery, Hog Wallow Rd., Nathalie by the Rev. Mike Price.
