Serena Seckman Green passed from this life to the next March 7, 2024. A lifelong resident of Brookneal, she was the wife of the late Dr. George Green. Serena was born in Charlotte County, July 16, 1930 to the late Beulah Mae and Donald Parker Seckman. She attended Richmond Professional Institute, and retired from the Babcock and Wilcox Company, Naval Nuclear Fuel Division in Lynchburg. She was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church, Brookneal Woman’s Club, Red Hill Garden Club, Patrick Henry Auxiliary, Campbell County Historical Society, Staunton River Historical Society and the Red Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as Regent. She is survived by two sisters, Connell Hicks of Evington, and Laura Passmore (George) of Culpepper; a sister-in-law, Janie Seckman of Brookneal; one brother, Mike Seckman (Vicki) of Middlebrook. She was preceded in death by one brother, D.P. Seckman. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 in Wickliffe Cemetery by the Rev. Andrew Reisberg.
