Shirley Francis Peade, 80, of Nathalie passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at home. She was the wife of the late Lacy R. Peade. Mrs. Peade was born in Halifax County, December 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Tommy Francis and Ida Jones Francis. She was a member of West End Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Burlington Industries. She is survived by three sons, Ken Peade (Cathy), Timothy Peade (Robin) all of Nathalie, Barry Peade (Betty) of Scottsburg; three grandchildren, Kelly Culpepper (Willie) of Waco, TX, Tommy Peade of Lynchburg, and a very special granddaughter, LeAnne Brightwell (Dustin) of Nathalie; three great grandsons, Wesley and Chris Puckett, Bradley Clay; one brother, Roy Francis of Nathalie; and a special niece, Bonnie Evans also of Nathalie. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ernest, Edward, Cordell, Lee and Ray Francis; and two sisters, Louise Singleton and Barbara Rudd. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2018 at West End Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Mann with interment to follow in Ellis Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at her residence other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Sentara Halifax Hospice Care.
