Obituaries

Vivian Jones Ramsey, 89, of Phenix passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roscoe W. Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey was born in Campbell County, September 1, 1926 daughter of the late Jesse Herbert Jones and Eva Nash Jones. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and a retired employee of Fred Jones Well Co. She is survived by two sons, Kelvin W. Ramsey of Newark, Del., Stewart H. Ramsey (Teresa) of Phenix; one daughter, Linda R. Wollbrink (Larry) of Yankton, S.D.; six grandchildren, Daniel Ramsey (Anne) of Concord, Kimberly G. Ramsey of Appomattox, Carrie E. Ramsey, Jennifer M. Ramsey both of Phenix, Joseph L. Wollbrink, Chris E. Wollbrink both of Blacksburg; two great-grandchildren, Kandis and MacKenzie Ramsey; one sister, Evelyn J. Beasley of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Clarence Jones; one sister, Marion Pillow. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at Midway Baptist Church by the Rev. Chris Kessler and the Rev. Joey Anthony with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
