Walter Ray Williams, 67, of Brookneal, Va., passed away peacefully at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, on Saturday, August 23, 2025. He was the husband of Dorothy Dickerson Williams. Born in South Boston, Va. on October 11, 1957, Walter was the son of the late Linwood North Williams and the late Mary Ella Harris Williams. Walter retired from Adam’s Sawmill. He was of the Baptist faith. Walter is survived by one daughter, Hollie W. Smith and a son, Daniel R. Williams; seven grandchildren, Dakota, Ethan, Kayla, Destiny, Gage, Alyssa, Ayden, Ashton and Adrian; great-grandchildren, King, Kyrie and Zendaya; two brothers, Kenneth Williams (Peggy) of Saxe and Linwood Williams (Beth) of Harrisonburg. Walter was preceded in death by a grandson, Ace Spencer. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Brookneal is assisting the family.
