William Lee “Bill” Burnette, 87, of Rustburg peacefully left this life Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Mr. Burnette was born in Forest, June 4, 1931, the son of Fred A. Burnette and Estelle Gordon Burnett. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Christine W. Burnette; daughter, Susan Hope (Diane) of Charlottesville; two sons, William Lee Burnette, Jr. (JoAnne), and Michael Burnette all of Lynchburg; one grandson, Travis Burnette (fiancée Lauryn Tribley); one granddaughter, Carley Burnette; two sisters, Ruby Edwards of Bedford, Katherine Hamilton (Bill) of Lynchburg; one brother, Tommy Burnette (Carolyn) also of Lynchburg. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Peroneau, Gordon, and Edward Burnette; one sister, Betty Weilend. The family would like to express their special love to Louise and Cathy Monroe, Pam Marcacci, Mae Brunson and Brenda Holland, for their dedicated love and support. They also wish to thank Patricia, Tamara and Rebecca, of Centra Hospice, for their loving and tender care of Bill and the family. At Bill’s request, there will be no Memorial Service. A private service will be held at Altavista Memorial Park at a later date. We love you; we miss you…Rest in Peace.
