Obituaries

Addie Lewis Jennings, 77, of Nathalie passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Brookneal.  He was the husband of the late Frances Arendall Jennings. Mr. Jennings was born in Halifax County, February 2, 1937 son of the late Frank Malonie Jennings and Helen Crews Jennings.  He was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Volens, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post 342. He is survived by one daughter, Buffy J. Moorefield (Jerry) of Nathalie; two sisters, Thelma J. Francis of Halifax, Janie J. Saunders (J.E.) of Nathalie; one granddaughter, Jessica Moorefield; one grandson, Dakota Wilson both of Nathalie; one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Epperson; a special friend, LaVerne Adams of Nathalie.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Word Jennings. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Douglas Spurlock with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Buffy and Jerry Moorefield, Volens Rd., Nathalie other times.
