Annie Mae King, 100, of Nathalie passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late George King. Mrs. King was born in Pittsylvania County, July 6, 1915 daughter of the late James Edward King and Susan Brown King. She was a member of Cody Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by two sons, G. Ryland King (Herbert Gayle) of Nathalie, Melvin King of Nathalie; seven daughters, Arlene Akers (D.B.) of Nathalie, Adrith Fore (Ed) of Gladys, Geneva Roark (Hugh) of Brookneal, Linda Rice of Wake Forest, N.C., Brenda Trent (Ricky) of Nathalie, Sheila Davis (Billy) of Nathalie, Barbara Elder (Joey) of Concord; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene King; and one daughter, Mabel King Rolfe. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Cody Church of God of Prophecy by the Rev. Ava Mitchell with interment to follow in the King Family Cemetery, Cody. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Henderson Funeral and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
