Carole Davis Newton, 82, of Brookneal, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was the wife of the late Luther Winston Newton. Born in New York on February 9, 1944, Carole was the daughter of the late John J. Davis and the late Ruth Becker Davis. She was of the Methodist faith and was a retired, self-employed horse trainer and breeder. Carole is survived by two daughters, Paige Hanna (John) of Brookneal and DeDe Hudson (Steve) of Amherst; a son, Steven Newton of Arlington; grandchildren, Hunter and Spencer Hanna, Joshua Hudson (Nicole), Caleb Hudson (Amanda); four great grandchildren, Sussanah, Sam, Avett and Auden; a brother, Robert Davis (Janice) of Byron, GA. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Davis, Jr., Richard Davis, and Gordon Davis. At Carole’s request, no services will be held.
