David Doyal Voss, 68, of Brookneal, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. He was the husband of Susan Lynne Strozier Voss. David was born in Alabama on December 11, 1957, the son of the late Cecil John Voss and the late Billie Aloha Wright. He was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and had worked for the City of Lynchburg in Water Resources. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Martin (Dean) of South Boston and Christy Herald (Danny) of Gladys; two sons, Joe Santigati (Nikki Armstrong) of Brookneal and William Voss of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Zach, Summer and Meagan Martin, Tristin and Jacob Herald, Eva and Matt Santigati and Michael Carey; great grandson, Sammy Dean Mitchell; siblings, Eugene, Jim, John and Paul Voss and Leslee Roberts. A Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Stanfield at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Childrey Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service and at the home other times.
