Fannie Angel Godsey, 98, of Gladys passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Godsey. Fannie was born in Campbell County on October 11, 1924 a daughter of the late Paul Bunyon Angel and the late Hester Angel Angel. She was a member of Brookneal Methodist Church. Fannie is survived by two sons, R. Wayne Godsey (Connie) of Nathalie, Steven R. Godsey (Beth) of Forest ; three grandsons, Barry Godsey (Cindy) of Gladys, Chris Godsey (Michele) of Lynchburg, and Michael Godsey (Karen) of Forest; five great-grandchildren Alexis R. Godsey, Courtney B. Godsey, Justin W. Godsey, Crystal Ann Henderson, Rusty Brown (Rachel); four great- great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers Monroe, Richard, and Willard Angel. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Hall for their love and care of Fannie. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 by the Rev. Matthew Killmon at the Smith Family Cemetery, Brookneal. The family will receive friends at her home at other times. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hendersonfuneral.net.
