Obituaries

Harry Franklin Hale, Sr, 94, of Long Island passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022. He was the husband of the late Margaret Wade Hale. Mr. Hale was born in Campbell County, October 16, 1927, son of the late Ewell Franklin Hale and Rebecca Fariss Hale. He was a member of Edge Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Navy, and owner operator of Hale Motor Service. He is survived by two sons Harry Franklin “Butch” Hale, Jr. (Judy) of Chatham, Gary Steven Hale (Carolyn) of Long Island; four grandchildren, Todd Hale (Amy Clowdis), Kristen Scott (Josh), Wade Hale, Carrie Craddock (Fred); eight great-grandchildren, a very special friend, Peggy Elliott; a sister, Grace Farmer of Gladys; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Hale, and Marie Short. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Edge Baptist Church by Dr. Jerry Jordan and the Rev. Shelton Miles with interment to follow in Kedron Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel and at the home of Peggy Elliott other times.
