Janice Hamlett Locke, 90, passed away at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, on Sunday, April 21, 2024. She was the wife of the late Harold “Boo” Locke, Jr. Janice was born in Charlotte County, May 20, 1933, daughter of the late Percy Henry Hamlett and the late Lillie Holt Hamlett. She was a member of Phenix United Methodist Church. Janice is survived by one daughter, Janet Locke Sublett (Donnie) of Phenix; two granddaughters, Courtney Wilson (Josh) of Rustburg, Nicole Clem (Zach) of Halifax; four great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaylee, and Kyler Clem, and Jax Wilson; and sister, Doris Brooks of Brookneal. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Earlean Lee and Nellie Price and two brothers, Edward Hamlett and Clyde Hamlett. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Mike Teixeira. The family will receive friends in the church following the graveside service. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal is assisting the family.
