Jean Mason Barbour, 74, of Rustburg, passed away at home on Sunday, October 11, 2026. She was the wife of the late Moncy Edward Barbour, Jr. Jean was born in Virginia on June 29, 1952, the daughter of the late Edward Mason and the late Thelma Overstreet Mason. She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and had worked at Central VA Training Center. She is survived by a daughter, Shannon Wingfield (John) of Rustburg; grandchildren Meghan Gere, Will Wingfield and Jacob Wingfield; nieces, Wendy Cyrus (Greg) and Tammy Fallin (Ted); great nieces, Morgan Garrett, Brooke Cyrus, Tiffaney Hammock and Stacey Crank; and great nephews, Scott Cyrus, and Andrew Overstreet. Jean was preceded in death by siblings, Bobby Mason (Marie), Jane Hammock (David); niece, Michele Christian and nephew, Bud Hammock. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
