Jerry James Ward, 79, of Brookneal, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Heidrun Groegel Ward. Jerry was born in Jefferson, Iowa on February 9, 1944, a son of the late Maurice Ward and the late Grayce Hawn Ward. He was of the Catholic faith, he served in the Army in Viet Nam and he retired from Computer Science Corp. In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by a sister Diane Donnelly (Stephen) of Maryland; a brother Edward E. Ward (Nonie) of Mexico; and a number of nieces and nephews.
