Joan Tucker Hines, 84, of Nathalie, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 14, 2026. She was the wife of the late Marvin Hudnal Hines. Joan was born in Charlotte County, February 26, 1942, a daughter of the late Billy Buck Tucker and the late Lillian Arrowood Tucker. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and retired from Halifax County Department of Social Services. She is survived by her granddaughter, Amanda Hines Holden (Brandon) of Nathalie; her great granddaughter, Briar Holden and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephan “Mickey” Hines; and sisters, Geraldine Moore, Lucille Johnson and Carolyn Wills. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Stanfield at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Childrey Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at Joan’s home other times.
