Lillian Payne Milton, 88, of Phenix passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 in Bolivia, North Carolina. Lillian was born in Charlotte County, February 5, 1927, daughter of the late John Wiley Milton and Grace Payne Milton. She was a member of Roanoke Presbyterian Church and retired Nursing Supervisor for the Mother/Baby Unit at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She is survived by two brothers, Jake Milton of Phenix, Lowell Milton (Joyce) of Lynchburg; one sister, Ann Jeter of Chester; a lifelong best friend, Annie B. Speight of Lynchburg; God-children, John Speight of Lynchburg, Donna Daniels (Bruce) of Brookneal, Melanie Dolan (Jim) of Nathalie; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Roanoke Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Kidd with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church and at the residence of Thomas Milton other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Roanoke Presbyterian Church.
