Lucille Ashby Woosley, 99, of Nathalie, passed away at Appomattox Health & Rehab Center on Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was the wife of the late Everette K. Woosley. Born in Halifax County on January 9, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Johnnie L. Ashby and the late Maggie Mason Ashby. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and retired from Bibb Company. Lucille is survived by a son, David K. Woosley (Estelle) of Pamplin; grandchildren, William (Bill) H. Hogan (Danielle) of Pamplin and Charles E. Hogan (Dana) of Altavista; five great grandchildren, Julianna, Ashby, Jacob, Jayden and Zoey. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth B. Hogan (Emma); two sisters, Ethel Woosley and Geneva Crews; and a brother, Louis Ashby. A Graveside Service will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Stanfield at Childrey Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at David and Estelle’s home at other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Childrey Baptist Church (1224 Childrey Church Rd., Nathalie, VA 24577) or to North Halifax Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad (4201 Leda Grove Rd., Halifax, VA 24577).
