Margaret Anderson Anderson, 84, of Nathalie, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, August 17, 2026. She was the devoted wife of Earl Bailey Anderson for almost 60 years.
Margaret was born in Halifax County on November 26, 1941, the daughter of the late Raymond Anderson and the late Maggie Anderson.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove where she served in various roles. She was lovingly known as “Ganty” to many. This was the title she loved the most. She was known for her kindness to others and her devotion to her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Barksdale (Mac) of Brookneal; two grandchildren, Ashley Poole (Robbie) of Brookneal, Colby Barksdale (Alyssa) of Appomattox; four great grandchildren who were the apple of her eye, Brantlee and Lawson Poole of Brookneal and Sophia and Taya Barksdale of Appomattox, and another great grandson arriving soon; one sister Nita Kersey, one brother, R.W. Anderson, both of Nathalie; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shela and John Stevens of Nathalie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a special grandson, Blake Barksdale and a brother Lynwood Anderson.
A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Zak Ford at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service and at the home other times.
Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the First Baptist Church of Republican Grove or North Halifax Volunteer Fire Dept.
