Martha Maddox Owen, 85, of Naruna, passed away peacefully at Runk and Pratt, Forest, on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was the wife of the late Marvin Bailey Owen. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia on April 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Edward Maddox and the late Eunice Bomar Maddox. Martha was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was the former owner of Maddox Motor Company. Martha is survived by three sons, Jason W. Owen (Tamera) of Naruna, Marvin Ray Owen (Deborah) of Gladys, James Gregory Owen (Casey) of Evington; a daughter, Angela O. Smith (Phillip) of Naruna and six grandchildren, Vicky, Kevin, Heather, Austin, Brandon, James Jr., and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Maddox Martin and a brother James Edward Maddox. A Graveside Service will be conducted by the Rev. Nathan Fair at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a visitation at Henderson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 6-7:30p.m. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Brookneal is assisting the family.
