Mary Frances Evans Harvey, 79, of Phenix, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 25, 2024 at her granddaughter’s home. She was the wife of the late Lester Clayton Harvey, Sr. Frances was born in Charlotte County on November 16, 1944, a daughter of the late Joe Thomas Evans and the late Sallie Gaines Evans. She retired from Dodd’s Farm Supply and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Lester C. Harvey, Jr. (April) of Phenix and Jeff S. Harvey (Wendy) of Phenix; two daughters, Leslie H. Dixon (Dwight) of Appomattox and Angela H. Peck (Mike Bryant) of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Hannah Morris (Tyler), Colton Peck (Megan), Laura Briceland (Alan), Dillon Harvey (Meghan Clowdis), Lindsey Bender (Mark), Cody Harvey (Jessica), Summer Harvey, Josh Harvey, Jaxen Harvey, Monica Evans (Chris), Ashley Ferguson (Jerome) and Melissa Dixon (Kevin Pierce); great-grandchildren, Dawson and AddiMay Morris, Karter Peck, Oakley Harvey, Austyn and Khloe Briceland, Brycen, Parker, Mason, Easton and Elijah Bender, Camden Harvey, Ava and Addison Stern, Gage and Remi Evans, Sam, Edy, Clay and Cade Ferguson; three sisters, Dorothy Hamlett, Jane Knott and Margaret Murphy; brother-in-law Joe (Linda) Harvey; sister-in-law Patricia (Steve) Elder. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Chris Kesler at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Midway Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at her son Jeff’s home on Wednesday, August 28, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; also following the service in the church fellowship hall.
