Obituaries

Michael Scott Hursh, 40, of Halifax, passed away at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. He was the husband of Christine Martin Hursh. Michael was born in Pennsylvania on October 24, 1983, a son of Glenn Hursh and Doris Zimmerman Hursh. He was employed by Good’s Power & Hearth, and he was a member of, and served as a deacon at, Faith Community Church. In addition to his wife and his parents, he is survived by two sons, Isaiah and Roman Hursh; siblings, Gary Hursh (Jennifer), Anita Hursh, Jeremy Hursh (Ruth) and Malinda Martin (Shawn), all of Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three aunts, Marlene Zimmerman, Janet Zimmerman and Sylvia Horning. A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Dane Skelton at Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel in Brookneal.
