Mildred Harper Hammock, 82, of Brookneal, passed away at home on Thursday, April 30, 2026. She was the wife of Sherman Hammock. Born in Campbell County on April 17, 1944, Mildred was the daughter of the late Willie Russell Harper and the late Lucy Mildred Clark Harper. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and was retired from The Lane Company. Mildred is survived by a brother, Edward Lee Harper (Carla) of Brookneal; a sister, Shirley Ann Villeneuve of Martinsburg, W.V.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Clayton Harper and Marvin Russell Harper A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Shelton Miles on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
