Obituaries

Norma Jean Claybrook (Holt), 89, of Gladys passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. She was the wife of the late William R. Claybrook. Norma Jean was born in Campbell County, March 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Lawrence H. Williams, Sr. and Mildred Sowell Williams. She was a life-long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Dean Claybrook of Boydton; a daughter, Laurie Ann Claybrook Francis (Charlie) of Gladys; six grandchildren, Bill Claybrook (Emily), James Claybrook, Michael, Tyler, Colton and Allison Francis; three great-grandchildren, Carter and Charlotte Claybrook, Jackson Francis; two brothers, Lloyd T. Williams, L. H. Williams, Jr. (Barbara) all of Gladys; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Williams; two sisters, Dale W. Britton and Cynthia W. Wyman. The family would like to thank all the caregivers that have shown so much care and love while she was at Heritage Hall. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnny Roberts with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the resident’s fund at Heritage Hall.
