Rayleen Crews Bomar, 91, of Nathalie, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Thornton Bomar. Rayleen was born in Halifax County on November 18, 1932, a daughter of the late William Henry Crews and the late Alma Hamlett Crews. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and retired from Daystrom Furniture in South Boston. She is survived by: a son, Kenneth Donald (Donnie) Bomar of Nathalie and a daughter, Vanessa Bomar Lowery (Monty) of Alton; granddaughters, Leslie Bomar Lewis (Steve) and Ashley Davis Martin (Greg), all of Nathalie; great granddaughters, Blair Lewis Powell (Jason) and Tori Lewis, all of Nathalie; and great-great grandson, Ripley Powell. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny William Bomar; brothers, William Francis Crews and Johnnie Alison Crews; and sister, Louise Crews Francis. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2024, by Rev. Jerry Stanfield at Childrey Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall. The family will be at her home other times.
