Ronnie James Seamster died peacefully at his home in Brookneal, Va. on March 29, 2026. The husband of Gale Landes Seamster for 31 years, Ronnie was born on August 25, 1960, in Halifax County to the late Haywood Coates and Janie Hall Seamster. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church. Ronnie spent his working days as a truck driver, at times owning his own truck. He enjoyed being outside which led to a long-time job working as a logger, often times using multiple heavy equipment. Ronnie also enjoyed the outdoors and the sport of hunting and fishing. Ronnie generously spent much time with his family and friends. He also had a heart for children and animals. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Gale, and his favorite girl, Emily Paige Ayers of the home. He is also survived by a son, Frank Lee Moore, (daughters, Juliette Moore and Janis Finlay) of New Braunfels, Texas. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Danny Seamster (Gaye) of Sophia, North Carolina, Jimmy Seamster of Farmville and sisters, Barbara S. Shrewsberry and Betty S. Austin, both of Brookneal; sister-in-law Katherine Dunaway-Fariss; great niece, Freya Rose and his daughter Donna S. Alexander (Tony) and grandsons, Anthony and Jonathan, both of Lynchburg. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 2 pm at Falling River Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Dooley and Rev. Nate Fair. The family will receive family and friends in the church fellowship hall following the funeral and other times at the home. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Gentle Shepard Hospice, Dr. Vincent Waldron and staff, UVA Neurology, his caregivers, Leslie Angel, Karen Littles, Debbie Mann, Irene Wells, and Cheryl Handy. There are countless friends, family and community who have made this journey with us. For cards, texts, calls, visits, food, and all other acts of kindness, including the many thoughts and prayers, we extend a heartfelt thank you.
