Sharon Francis East, 71, of Brookneal passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Acie Bailey East. Sharon was born in Halifax County on May 28, 1955, daughter of the late Roy Monroe Francis and the late Gladys Dunkley Francis. She was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church. She was also a homemaker. She is survived by three brothers, Ronnie L. Francis (Charlotte) of Brookneal, David W. Francis (Donna) of Nathalie, and Steve Francis of Brookneal; a sister, Karen A. East of Nathalie. A very special niece Sarah Mandrell along with other nieces and nephews and a great friend Bruce King. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday September 20, 2026 at Brookneal Baptist Church by Rev. Andrew Reisberg with interment to follow at the Wickliffe Cemetery.
