William “Bill” Howell Holt, 80, of Ringgold passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Cynthia Louise Byrum Holt. Bill was born in Charlotte County, May 31, 1941, a son of the late Henry Rice Holt and Nell Edith Keene Holt. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp and retired from Superior Mechanical. He is survived by a son, William Nicholas Holt (Brandy Hawkins) of Charlotte C. H.; two daughters, Barbara Holt Draper of Florida, Philippa Dawn Holt of Danville (Brandon D. Overstreet); six grandsons, Gabriel Dunovant, Jonathan T. Adkins, Jakob Overstreet, Alastair Overstreet, Tanner E. Holt, Hayden W. Mills; five granddaughters, Trinity Overstreet, Ocean Overstreet, Emma-Gray Mills, Madison E. Amos, Allison Draper; five brothers, Henry R. Holt, Jr., Larry E. Holt, Robert A. Holt, Edwin C. Holt, M. Keith Holt; two sisters, Janice H. Armstead, Catherine H. Ridgeway; a loving aunt, Lorraine Williams. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Roanoke Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Military honors will be performed at the grave by American Legion Post #36. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. And at the home of his son on Sunday, May 1, 2022 and at the home of his daughter in Danville other times.
