Winfred William Tucker Winfred William “Doot” Tucker, 86, of Wickliffe Road, Brookneal passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Mary Airwood Tucker for 53 years. Mr. Tucker was born in Campbell County, March 31, 1927 son of the late Frank Clyde Tucker and Senora Mason Tucker. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church, a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and a retired farmer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jere Davidson of Rustburg; four daughters, Melinda McConville (Sam) of Lynchburg, Sherry Ratliff (David) of Goode, Patty Totty (Carl) of Monroe, Debbie Davidson of Madison Heights; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister Shirley T. Marshall of Vinton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Falling River Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith Williams with internment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Falling River Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
