We just learned of Ned's passing when our Christmas card was returned. My wife and I had stopped by his mill on vacation an thoroughly enjoyed talking with him and getting to explore his mill. He was packaging flour that had just been ground and several bags came home with us.

I went through school and graduated with Ned, and he was the same from the first grade through the twelth grade, always nice, quiet and friendly. I am so sorry for the family's loss.

We are surely going to miss Ned in Long Island and at the mill. He was certainly a nice man, who always had a smile and a kind word.

I miss Ned so much. I called him Flour man. My husband I just opened S &L County Market at the old Straight-stone store and we grew very fond of him. RIP my friend.

Having grown up with Ned,attending school with him and having known his family for as long as I can remember i am saddened to hear that Ned has passed into the Glory land and wish to express my condolences to all of Ned's family and many friends. What an interesting, intelligent and kind man whose mild manner and witty conversation was always as engaging as it was insightful and unassuming. A very respectable and respectful guy who possessed a gentle humility and an easy going nature that was one of a kind. Never will the sound of his voice or his expressions fade. I know that the water running through Cedar Forest Mill down Straitstone Creek shall forever murmur his name and his legacy. Rest in peace Ned
