Eunice Trent Garrett, 93, of Brookneal passed gently in her sleep to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was the wife of the late Harold Bennett Garrett. Mrs. Garrett was born September 4, 1929, a daughter of the late Jesse Innis Trent and the late Susan Anne Trent. She dearly loved her family, friends, animals, and her country. She was a founding member of Patrick Henry’s Woman’s Auxiliary, a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and a volunteer for her beloved Falling River Baptist Church. She lived life with zest, humor, and compassion. She is survived by: a son Harold Bennett Garrett, Jr. (Karin) of Virginia Beach; a daughter Gwendolyn Gay Garrett of Brookneal; five grandchildren Josh Pritt (Jill) and Patrick Pritt of Brookneal, Kelly P. Sheppard (Nathan) of Gladys, Katelyn P. Dellai (Dr. Alex) of Lynchburg, Spencer Garrett of Virginia Beach; five great-grandchildren Beckett Pritt, Hudson Pritt, Brinley Sheppard, Emery Sheppard, and Sofia Dellai; daughter-in-law Robin L. Pritt and a sister Anne Alford (Mike) of Charleston, S.C. She was preceded in death by a son Ricky Pritt, a brother Robert Trent and two sisters Ethel Franklin and Edna Elder. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Falling River Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian Hart with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 between 6-7:30 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service on Friday in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation or Falling River Baptist Church. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Brookneal is assisting the family.
