Dorothy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am fairly new to the area but Darwin seemed to become an instant friend, visiting, calling, and helping whenever I needed help. He became my go-to person whenever I needed advice. I am going to miss him and his ready smile.

To know him was to love him. Never saw a day where he wasn't smiling just like this picture. One humble, kind and generous soul. He was such a huge part of our life growing up. From giving my stepdad a job, and even myself, to making sure we always had a Christmas. I truly am thankful for knowing Darwin and growing up in that community. Heaven gained a real ANGEL last night. No doubt on that. My prayers are with you all, Dorothy, Mitzi and Monte along with the rest of the family.

This page is not long enough for all I could say about Darwin. I've spent my entire life knowing him and saw him a lot after he and Monte started renting mamas land. Darwin (and Monte) were always there to help with my daddy when he was in need and there for mam ( after daddy passed). I'm gonna miss seeing his truck go down the road to check on the crops. I may even miss him stopping to tease me about my Hokies. Dorothy, Mitzi, Monte and the rest of the family: I am deeply saddened by your loss. You are in my heart today and the days to come.
